What do you particularly like about edr software?
Stephan: I appreciate the ambition and stringency with which set goals are pursued. As an employee, I experience great appreciation – through a lot of co-design, co-determination and co-responsibility. I enjoy being part of the family team every day. A lot is done to promote cohesion, motivation and interdisciplinary exchange – our excursions and events have a high fun factor.
What were/are your personal highlights at edr software
Stephan: I was delighted when edr software was able to acquire HOCHTIEF as its first major customer shortly after the company was founded. As an “old hand”, I have been able to follow the uninterrupted upward development of the company for many years, and the success curve encourages and confirms me in my day-to-day work. I currently find it very rewarding to be working intensively with Angular for the development of web applications. A technology that is said to have great potential for the future – not least because it also includes mobile use.
What have been the biggest challenges for you so far?
Stephan: The accelerated pace of technological change presents us with constant challenges, because in software development nothing stays the same for long. This requires a strong ability to adapt. I am constantly learning, which keeps my daily work interesting. The SHARE configurations for our customers are a consistently exciting field of work. Due to their individual IT landscapes, I am confronted with new framework conditions and requirements every time I create the system links.
What transformation has edr software undergone from the beginning until today?
Stephan: While edr software initially still had the structures of an engineering office and start-up, it now operates like a genuine software company. Not only in agile development, but also in other areas of the company such as sales, consulting and product management. Over the last 20 years, there have of course also been some radical upheavals from time to time: Shortly after the company was founded, for example, we moved away from software based on Microsoft Access to our classic products created with the Microsoft .NET framework. Or even more recently, where edr software has turned its focus strongly towards web solutions.
A look into the future - our focused topics
Integration
With our intelligent interface technology, we will create an overall IT architecture for more and more customers – with interacting components. At all levels – from data storage and message exchange to fully automated processes and workflows.
ISO 27001 certification
edr software is certified according to ISO 27001 – the international standard defines the successful documentation & implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS). Customers can therefore rely on the highest level of IT security & rock-solid data management.
Web applications
At the top of the agenda is the perfect development of our browser-based web solutions as well as further and new developments in the area of progressive web apps. With a focus on expanding offline capability – for smooth mobile use.
Expansion
We are significantly expanding the new and further development of our software portfolio & expanding our range of services, including webinars, tutorials, etc.. This means: personnel reinforcement in all divisions of edr software.
Platform concept
We are organizing our mydocma platform as a digital ecosystem in which our construction software modules grow together. With standardized software architecture, smooth data exchange, centrally accessible master data & data sources, etc..
Deviation management
Our efficient software for defect management is not only suitable for the construction and real estate industry. Consequently, we will establish it as a digital deviation management system in other sectors, e.g. technology, transportation, energy, traffic, logistics, trade, etc..
Internationalisierung
German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, Polish, Czech and Slovak – our software modules are available in nine languages, enabling us to increase our international presence & open up new markets.
BIM
We will store the Autodesk Forge Framework BIM viewer centrally on our mydocma platform so that it is available in all modules. Defects and photos can thus be located directly in the BIM model together with the associated information.
