Project description
attocube systems, now part of the WITTENSTEIN Group, was founded in 2001 and emerged from the Centre for NanoScience at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The leading company in the field of sensor technology and nanotechnology develops and produces microscopes, sensors and positioning stages for science and industry. In 2018, the company moved from Königinstraße in Munich city centre to the Nano-Manufaktur on the ‘Haarer Dreieck’, designed by the architectural firm HENN. The 14-metre-high, three-storey, architecturally sophisticated new building is adorned with a modern, curved steel and glass façade and largely follows the shape of the 5,720 square metre site. Inside, the hybrid building has offices, research and development areas and a production hall, all of which are connected via short routes.
