Project description
With the 246 metre high test tower erected in the town of Rottweil, the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Group is making it clear that it is aiming high with state-of-the-art technology. The cylindrical laboratory of the future is used to test ropeless high-speed lifts, with which the company wants to revolutionise the global lift industry. The interior comprises 12 lift shafts, six of which end at 110 metres and six at 230 metres. The tower boasts record-breaking figures: 15,300 cubic metres of concrete were used in it, it weighs a whopping 40,000 tonnes and it is the tallest building in Baden-Württemberg. At a dizzying 232 metres, it has the highest viewing platform in Germany and is therefore a new tourist magnet in the region.
